The Norma Bell National Youth Leader Award is an initiative of the Australian Youth Advisory Network of St John Ambulance Australia.

The Award is funded by the generous bequest of Norma Bell, friend and supporter of youth development within St John Ambulance Australia.

The Award intends to reward up to two outstanding young members every year for their activities as leaders in St John, promoting their contributions on a national stage and providing further professional development pathways. In 2016, the Award recipients will have a real opportunity to make a difference to the lives of people living in developing communities in Oecussi and Dili, Timor-Leste. Annually, through the St John Volunteer Community Community Health Placement, St John partners with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) to deliver specialist eye care to members of the Oecussi community in addition to provide basic first aid awareness to the communities of Oecussi and Dili. Read on to find out more!

Exciting announcement:  The prize for the two 2016 Award recipients will be a fully funded position on the annual Volunteer Community Health Project in East Timor!
